Kid Rock’s new album ‘First Kiss’ debuts at #2 on the Billboard 200 album chart this week with sales (plus streams) of 146,000 units. Big Sean’s album ‘Dark Sky Paradise’ takes the #1 spot with sales (plus streams) of 173,000 units. However, if you look at album sales alone, it’s a much tighter battle with Big Sean only outselling Kid Rock by 2,000 copies (139k vs 137k).
Every Kid Rock album has debuted in the Top 10 since his first major label album Devil Without a Cause in 1998, but First Kiss marks Rock’s highest entry since 2007’s Rock N Roll Jesus hit Number One on the Billboard 200.
Meanwhile, Kid Rock is currently out on his 6th annual Chillin’ The Most Cruise which finishes on Friday.
